It's a Girl!

We're so excited to welcome a little baby girl to our family sometime in October. Now it's time to find matching dresses for April and baby.

Peterson Visit

We all had a great time when my family came to visit- especially the kids. John and April love all the attention provided by their aunts and and uncles, and this mommy loves how worn out and well they always sleep when we get together.

Jason made their "hats" out of paper towels. Eventually they had little symbols on them. Jason had them mimic him doing a little Kung-Fu kicking. April REALLY got into it.

April's First Haircut

April's bangs have been driving me crazy for a little while now. They've just been long and in her eyes- it would have absolutely driven my Grandma Carlston crazy! Thankfully Aunt Alli came for a visit and took care of it.

4th of July

Here are a few pictures from out 4th of July celebration. We stayed home and kept it low key, with just a couple of friends coming over to light off fireworks with us.

John loved the sparklers...

April did not.The tree on the next street over caught fire. That's 3 fires for the last 2 Independence Days. Stinkin' illegal fireworks! You think people would figure it out.
After every firework John would clap and shout, "YEA!" He was possibly more fun to watch than the fireworks themselves.

Circus

We had a blast at the circus! John and April especially loved the animals- elephants, tigers, miniature horse, etc. It was so much fun to watch them discovering everything for their first time. And they put on a good show!

Before the circus started we could go watch some acts up close on the floor. John, April, and Adam tried on some clown costumes. John wasn't too sure if he liked it at first, but he got used to the idea when Daddy joined in.

Ryan's Wedding

Adam was a groomsmen in a wedding on Saturday night for a friend from work. It was a beautiful setting up at The Lodge on Mount Charleston.

John does not like when I say he's cute. He tells me, "I'm not cute, I'm handsome."
I LOVE the look on the boys faces. Makes the picture for me!

It

We had an ultrasound on June 1st. Unfortunately the baby was completely uncooperative and we are still having an "it". Six weeks and we'll try again. In the meantime, I'm having fun feeling the baby move. I've been telling the kids we have to wait for the baby to get big and strong before it can come live at our house. John has started to say that the baby is big and strong now. Four months of patience is going to be tough for the almost 4 year-old though. At least they're excited. April was even able to recognize that is a picture of a baby.
